More Details About Our 50 Rounds of 62gr FMJBT .223 Ammo by Fiocchi

The .223 Remington was designed in 1964 by none other than Remington, and it gained almost instant popularity thanks to the AR-15. One thing that has caused confusion about the .223 Remington round is its visual similarity to the 5.56 NATO, and the reality is the two rounds are not actually identical. On the outside they’re certainly similar, but internally the 5.56 NATO is loaded to significantly higher pressure than the .223 Remington, and the chamber leade is also a different length. Those differences mean it isn’t a good idea to use 5.56 NATO in a gun chambered for .223 Remington. Check your barrel stamping, and if in doubt, ask the manufacturer.

These .223 Remington rounds are just what you want for your .223-specific rifle. At 62 grain they’re pretty lightweight rounds, so they’re going to zip towards your target with stunning speed, and they’re still heavy enough to hit with significant force. They’re Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) rounds and as such are not going to expand on impact. FMJs hit, penetrate, and keep on going, and because rifle rounds can literally travel for miles before coming to a stop it becomes even more important to have a good backstop in place. Each of these rounds bursts from the barrel of your gun with a muzzle velocity of 3000 feet per second. This ammunition is ideal for target practice, tactical training, and plinking.

When you order this single box of ammunition from Fiocchi you get 50 target rounds. Fiocchi was founded in 1876 by Guilio Fiocchi, who got the company started right as a number of major changes were taking place in the firearms industry. The first major change was the switch from muzzle loaders to breech loaders, which meant significant changes in how ammunition was made. The second was the move from black powder to smokeless. For almost 150 years Fiocchi has been manufacturing high-quality ammunition, and if you’ve never tried it, it’s time you did. Although Fiocchi’s headquarters are located in Lecco, Italy, they have a factory in Ozark, Missouri, for American distribution. Place your order today and hit the range with your AR-15.
