This cartridge features a 230 grain total metal jacket projectile, which is backed by the propellant it needs to clear a 5” barrel at a rate of 845 feet per second. The TMJ is just like a conventional full metal jacket but with one important exception: Its copper jacket covers the base of its lead core. This makes the core inaccessible to powder gasses, so they cannot aerosolize lead off the bullet throughout ignition. In addition to the obvious health benefit, that conserves a pistol’s accuracy by keeping its rifling cleaner.

This ammo has Speer’s usual quality reloadable brass cases, but its Boxer primers are something a little different. They are Clean-Fire primers, and accordingly contain no lead. They are also free of barium and antimony, which are two other heavy metals no doctor would recommend inhaling.
