Winchester is legendary. Steeped in history and innovation such as the Model 1866’s wooden forearm and the Model 1873, also known as The Gun That Won the West, they have long been known for fulfilling the needs of sport and hunting shooters – sometimes before shooters even knew they needed it. In 2006, the Winchester name became the property of the Olin Corporation, and today they maintain the American production and pride that has had more than 150 years to flourish.
This is .22LR ammunition, a cartridge with nearly as long a history as Winchester, having been created in 1887. The .22LR is an affordable round and guns chambered in it have practically no recoil and are so fun to shoot experienced and new shooters alike favor them. New shooters can be trained easily with this caliber thanks to its ease of use and cost, and experienced shooters enjoy hours of plinking not unlike the old potato chip commercial: once you pop – or fire a .22LR – you just can’t stop.
These are standard-weight rounds at 36 grain, but also lightweight. They’re CPHP, so they’re plated in copper, which keeps your gun cleaner, and they mushroom somewhat on impact. They can be used for target shooting and plinking and some shooters use them for varmint and pest control such as crows and foxes. Each round has a muzzle velocity of 1,280 feet per second. You get 555 rounds in this box and you can either use it to increase your stockpile or burn through it for fun or training. Winchester made some of the original .22 rifles, so what better choice to feed your .22LR today?
