- Q & A
The Barnes TAC-XP bullet features a wide expansion cavity designed to split into four petals for massive stopping power against an assailant. In order to take full advantage of this design, this ammo fires a relatively light projectile at a high muzzle velocity of 1,000 feet per second. The reduced projectile weight also gives the round a somewhat less severe recoil profile compared to other +P loads, improving the shooter's ability to fire aimed shots quickly.
As the name implies, Black Hills ammo is loaded in South Dakota. It uses non-corrosive Boxer primers and reloadable brass cases. Black Hills is a widely respected manufacturer that serves a variety of customers including competition shooters and every branch of the US armed forces.
