- Q & A
The .45 ACP is one awesome round. Not only do these tough rounds hammer into targets with substantial force, they’re one of the few handgun rounds capable of producing hydrostatic shock with just a target round. Newcomers to the .45 ACP are often surprised by just how manageable the felt recoil is, not to mention muzzle rise and minimal flash. This cartridge has been around since the U.S. Cavalry realized they needed a more powerful round following the Philippine-American War, and today it continues to be favored by many. .45 ACP is the round of choice for many in special forces including Navy SEALs, Army Rangers, and many Delta Force operators. It’s a hard-hitting round, and it has a big appetite, so if you have a gun chambered in .45 ACP, you’re going to need some good target rounds.
These particular .45 ACP rounds are made by BVAC. At 230 grain they’re relatively heavy rounds capable of a solid impact; these rounds will hammer into targets with serious force and make a nice, big hole. These are Copper Plated Round Nose, or CPRN, rounds and will not expand on impact. In fact, target rounds like these are prone to over-penetration, so it’s important to have a good backstop in place during range time. This ammunition is specifically designed for target practice, self-defense training, and plinking.
When you place your order for this single box of ammunition you get 250 target rounds. With this much ammunition your .45 ACP is going to be warm and well-fed, and you’re going to be enjoying some lengthy trigger time. These are brass-cased rounds with boxer primer, so you can collect your spent brass, reload it, and get even more range time. This ammunition is manufactured by BVAC at their factory in Montana. All BVAC ammunition undergoes rigorous testing and strict quality control measures. If you carry your .45 ACP for self-defense, you need to train accordingly. Order this big box of ammunition today, and start training like you may one day need to fight.

- Are these reloads? Posted On: 6/21/13 By: Dario
- Correct. The BVAC brand uses once fired brass, usually collected from indoor ranges, to reload these 45 ACP rounds. All brass pieces are cleaned and resized prior to this loading. The components used (bullet, primer and powder) for the loads are all non corrosive.
