- Q & A
.22-caliber guns, whether handguns or long guns, are like potato chips: if you fire it once, you can’t stop. This caliber is fantastic for plinking, sport, small varmint control, and initial firearms training. It has virtually no recoil and makes hardly any noise. The NRA often uses .22 rifles to teach children firearm safety and use, a method repeated around the country by firearms-loving parents. There just isn’t much in the world of firearms more enjoyable than burning through some .22LR, and with that in mind, we have this Centurion .22LR 38 grain HP ammunition available in this 5,000 round package. That's 5,000 pulls of the trigger... unless you have some sort of automatic that we need to come help you shoot!
The fact that this ammunition is manufactured by Centurion is worth mentioning if for no other reason than that they’re run by Industrias Tecnos S.A. de C.V. Why is that noteworthy? Because the Mexico-based plant is credited with developing an important part of the technology used to produce .22LR rounds. In addition, the company was originally founded by Remington back in 1961, and today they’ve become their own modern entity. Today there are still employees working on the ammunition who were originally trained by Remington. Centurion is also one of the top ammunition suppliers for the Middle East, Europe, and South America.
This is great ammunition for target practice, training, plinking, and smaller varmint control needs. Although they are HP rounds, at this caliber expansion is rather minimal; the reason for making these hollow points is to prevent over-penetration during training. 38 grain is fairly normal for this caliber; you don’t typically see a .22LR more than 40 grain, but also not often under 30 grain, so the differences are somewhat negligible. As small, light rounds they zip right out of your gun with a muzzle velocity of 1,280 feet per second. They’re also brass-cased and non-corrosive, so they’re easier on your gun, which is terrific for high-volume shooters (and aren’t all of us with .22’s high-volume shooters?). Best of all, there are 5,000 rounds in this box, so you’re going to have an excellent day of shooting. What’re you waiting for? Get to it!
