More Details About Our 200 Rounds of 43gr TNT Green 223 Rem Ammo by Federal
You don’t hate varmints. You love them! More specifically, you love shooting them, which is why we strongly expect you will love Federal’s Varmint & Predator series 223 Remington ammunition. This cartridge’s bullet is 100 percent lead-free, so you won’t have to pollute your favorite varmint hunting grounds with heavy metal.
This round features the TNT Green bullet by Speer. You already know why it is “Green” – zero lead. But why is it “TNT?” Because this bullet doesn’t deliver terminal expansion. It delivers explosive terminal fragmentation courtesy of its exceedingly thin copper jacket, hollow point nose cavity, and core which is made of compressed powder. The TNT Green begins self-destructing way too soon to create a very deep wound channel, so it’s a rotten choice for medium game or home defense, but it will absolutely rock a little creature’s socks clean off.
This round’s bullet weighs only 43 grains without any lead to weigh it down. Its muzzle velocity is super fast at 3,600 fps, which means its trajectory is straight as an arrow and its velocity stays supersonic well past 400 yards, but its very low 0.151 G1 ballistic coefficient underscores how vulnerable the bullet’s trajectory becomes to wind drift over longer distances.
This ammo’s nickel-plated brass cases are always a nice bonus. Nickel boasts superior corrosion resistance and lubricity, so you can count on this ammo to run nice and smoothly through any kind of firearm including AR-style rifles. Bullets are made in Idaho; ammo is loaded in Minnesota. The good old potato-walleye combo!
