Prvi Partizan was founded in 1927 by Jakob Posinger, who started the company in order to supply the Yugoslavian army with much-needed ammunition. In fact, for the first two years of production the equipment was located in the military barracks. In 1935 the government gave Posinger land to build a full-size factory, which was the first private factory of its kind in the Balkans. The factory was badly damaged in World War II, but they kept going, and today they manufacture ammunition for shooters all over the world.
These 55 grain rounds are considered pretty lightweight for the 5.56 cartridge. Of course, being lighter weight means they move down-range at faster speeds, and they’re still more than powerful enough to put a serious hole in your stationary targets. These are FMJBT rounds meant for target practice, tactical training, and plinking; their Boat Tails help them resist cross-winds and maintain a flatter trajectory in flight, making them a good option for working on longer-range shooting. Each round moves down-range at a muzzle velocity of 3248 feet per second and hits home with a muzzle energy of 1283 foot-pounds.
There are just 20 target rounds in this single box of ammunition. And while the box is a great size for sticking in your pocket when you hit the range, you’re going to end up wanting far more than 20 rounds. With that in mind you might want to consider ordering multiple boxes to give your rifle a bigger meal. Prvi Partizan manufactures ammunition at their plant in Uzice, Serbia; these rounds are made in virgin brass cases with boxer primer and can be reloaded. If you want to be a high-volume shooter and have been unable due to price, thanks to Prvi Partizan you can finally afford it. Don’t wait another second, get your order in and get ready to sling lead down-range to your heart’s content.
