.22 Long Rifle was designed in 1887 by the J. Stevens Arms and Tool Company. Although its parent cartridge was technically the .22 Long it can trace its roots back to 1845 and the Flobert BB Cap. It’s been around for a long time and if anything it’s gained popularity with age. Many shooters enjoy guns chambered in .22LR for their minimal recoil, soft report, and affordable price. It’s also an incredibly versatile round with uses ranging from target practice to hunting squirrels to teaching brand new shooters. If you have a .22LR you probably go through a lot of ammo, which means you need more.
These .22LR rounds are made by RWS – Rottweil – which is a subsidiary of RUAG Ammotec. Each round weighs in at 40 grain which is quite lightweight in general but within the standard weight range for the cartridge size. Being so light is what allows these rounds to zip down-range at such high speeds and also keeps felt recoil to a minimum. These are LRN, Lead Round Nose, rounds and do not expand on impact. The lead may deform on impact but should not be mistaken with expansion. This ammunition is great for target practice and plinking.
When you order this single box of ammunition from RWS you get 50 target rounds. This box is the perfect size for stashing in your range bag or stacking on the shelf of your gun safe. With 50 rounds you can have a nice time with your favorite gun, but with more – 100, 150, 200 – you can have an awesome time. 22LR is like the potato chip of the gun world, because once you fire that first shot you don’t want to stop. RWS manufactures this ammunition at their factory in Germany according to SAAMI or CIP specifications. Order now and feed your .22LR.
