- Q & A
This cartridge’s bullet weighs in at a normal 40 grains, but its spicy propellant charge accelerates that bullet to a very fast 1,435 fps muzzle velocity (assuming you are firing a rifle; a handgun’s muzzle velocity should clock in closer to 1,305 fps).
So fast-moving a bullet produces plenty of the pressure a semi-auto needs to cycle. It also exhibits an impressively flat trajectory, and it strikes its target with considerably more energy. The bullet should also avoid transonic destabilization until it reaches about 80 yards, so it’s plenty accurate at longer ranges.
This round’s bullet is a copper-plated hollow point: copper-plated to decelerate barrel fouling, and hollow point so it can expand while penetrating soft tissue. That CPHP is seated in a high-quality brass case with a non-corrosive and sensitive rimfire primer, and the whole thing is made right here in the USA. Fancy hard plastic packaging will keep your ammo orderly and presentable!
