Some ammunition retailers promise that you will enjoy sharing the Rio Wing & Target 12 Gauge experience with friends and family. You certainly can do that … but we’re willing to bet you’ll want to hoard all this fine, multi-purpose ammo to yourself instead.
Two purposes, to be more specific: upland game hunting (at which #8 lead shot excels), and clay shooting (ditto). One shell tosses 1 ounce of shot (around 410 pellets total, which form a dense spread when they are made of rigid lead, which Rio’s shot is). Rio could have given the shell another 1/8 ounce of shot without violating competitive clay shooting associations’ rule books, but that weight reduction is the key to the shell’s welcome combination of high muzzle velocity and low recoil. You can fire this stuff all day without turning your shoulder into hamburger meat.
This ammo is made in Texas. Rio uses their parent company MAXAM’s clean-igniting explosives, as well as tough low-brass hulls which cycle surely and serve well as handloading components.
