More Details About Our 375 Rounds of 40gr CPRN .22 LR AR-Tactical Ammo by CCI

CCI – Cascade Cartridge Industries – was founded in 1951 by Richard Speer, a Boeing machinist known for his talent with all things mechanical, which translated well to the world of ammunition. Since World War II had just ended there was a serious shortage of metals as well as the supplies needed for primers, and Richard decided to come up with a primer solution. His first try was a chlorate FA-70 formula, which he used for CCI’s first big military order. After that he decided a change was necessary, so he came up with a non-mercuric, non-corrosive formula, and not only was it a hit at the time but high-quality primers are something CCI is known for to this day. They’re also known for their fantastic .22LR.

These .22LR rounds are the standard 40 grain weight, so they’re pretty light, and they’re going to zip down-range with substantial speed. This is CPRN ammunition – Copper Plated Round Nose – and it’s great for target practice, shooting drills, and plinking. These are some of CCI’s high velocity rounds and have a muzzle velocity of 1200 feet per second and a muzzle energy of 128 foot-pounds. They’re more than just higher speed, though, because this is CCI’s AR Tactical ammunition. It’s made specifically to cycle reliably and perform well in AR-style guns, and according to seasoned shooters who use it, it delivers as promised.

When you place your order for this .22LR AR Tactical ammo, you get 375 rounds. It’s manufactured by CCI at their long-time plant in Lewiston, Idaho, and every round has to meet the company’s stringent standards to leave the factory. Your .22LR is a versatile gun capable of meting out justice in pest control situations, teaching new shooters the ropes of the gun world, honing your own rifle skills, and, of course, it’s just plain fun to shoot. 375 rounds will give you a nice afternoon slinging lead down-range at your favorite outdoor spot – or you can save it for later. Better yet, get two boxes, one for now, one for later. Either way, place your order, and get to the range.

Shooters Reviews

Works great

Performance

I have a S&W 15-22 and have shot several thousand rounds of this ammo through it with almost zero problems. I also use this ammo in a Ruger 10-22, Ruger 22-45 and an old 1955 S&W 22 revolver, again with very few issues. This ammo also seems to shoot pretty clean, the AR isn't all that dirty after 2000 rounds.

.22 AR ammo that doesn't work in my AR22

Performance

I have CMMG .22LR dedicated upper (16") on my S&W MP15 lower. This ammo would fail to eject about every 3 rounds. This same rifle cycles federal 36gr and 40gr just fine. I also tried CCI Blazers and CCI Minimags, both of these ammo types would not eject properly either. Be aware that CMMG products may not like this ammo.
