- Q & A
Cascade Cartridges, Inc., which we in the gun world more commonly know as CCI, was founded in 1951 by Richard Speer. Prior to entering the ammunition business Richard was a machinist at Boeing, and those skills absolutely translated well into his new career path. When he first began making cases he used an impact extrusion process, but it wasn’t long before he realized there just weren’t enough raw materials available at the time since it was right after World War II. As a result Richard turned to primers, and it wasn’t long before he’d created a non-mercuric, non-corrosive primer. Today CCI remains well-known for their superior primers and their ammunition is distributed globally.
These CCI rounds are for your .22LR. At 40 grain they’re lightweight but also within the standard weight range for the cartridge size; they’re capable of reaching impressive speeds and won’t increase your felt recoil. These are LRN, or Lead Round Nose, rounds and do not expand on impact although the lead may deform somewhat on impact. Each round moves down-range like lightning at a muzzle velocity of 1235 feet per second and strikes your target with a muzzle energy of 135 foot-pounds. This ammunition is best for target practice and plinking.
When you place your order for this CCI ammunition you get 50 target rounds. CCI is known for their high-quality .22LR; you won’t be disappointed. Firing a .22LR is an absolute pleasure both for new and seasoned shooters thanks to its low recoil, quiet report, and affordable cost, and with CCI you can keep your .22LR-chambered rifle well fed with quality American-made ammunition. And because this is CCI’s Quiet ammunition it produces only ¼ the perceived report of the average .22LR round. Your .22 is great for teaching new shooters, handling pest control such as squirrels and rabbits, and, like we said, it’s just plain fun. CCI manufactures ammunition at their longtime plant in Lewiston, Idaho. Order your 50-round box right now and send some time plinking with what we all know is your favorite gun.
