This shotshell’s 1-1/8 ounce shot column wouldn’t get it banned from competitive target shooting, but it’s also heavy enough to contain 394 individual pieces of #7.5 shot. Those are highly spherical pellets, and they remain that way even as they’re accelerated to 1,145 feet per second because they are made of extra hard lead. Its shot weight and muzzle velocity wouldn’t make this shell’s kick very powerful on their own, but Federal’s wad does do its job to reduce perceived recoil all the same.
