- Q & A
In the 19th century an accountant by the name of Giulio Fiocchi decided to enter the ammunition business. He named his company Fiocchi Munizioni – Fiocchi Ammunition – getting it started right before a series of major changes took place in the firearms industry. Just a few short years after Fiocchi got going muzzle loaders were replaced by breech loaders, which resulted in significant changes to ammunition production, but that wasn’t all. Not long after, black powder was replaced by smokeless powder, and the world of ammunition would never be the same. Fiocchi flourished despite the changes and has always been known for producing quality rounds, probably due in part to the fact that they have always designed and produced all their own manufacturing equipment. Today Fiocchi is better than ever, and the proof is in every reliable “bang” of these .22LR rounds.
These .22LR rounds are made by Fiocchi and weigh in at 40 grain, making them quite lightweight by ammunition standards but within the standard weight range for the cartridge size. Because they’re light they’re able to move down-range at higher speeds than their heavier counterparts and also able to maintain the minimal recoil you’ve come to expect from your .22LR. These are Copper-Plated Solid Point, CPSP, rounds and do not expand on impact. Target rounds like these are prone to over-penetration, so make sure you have a solid backstop in place. Each round has a muzzle velocity of 1255 feet per second and muzzle energy of 140 foot-pounds. This ammunition is great for target practice and plinking.
When you order this single box of ammunition from Fiocchi you get 50 target rounds. With 50 rounds you can have a fun afternoon plinking or give a new shooter a lesson. If you’re teaching someone new about guns, make sure they memorize and follow the four golden rules of firearms prior to being allowed to handle a firearm. The minimal recoil and soft report of the .22LR makes it the ideal gun for newcomers and it’s always a good idea to introduce someone new to guns so long as you do so safely. Fiocchi’s headquarters are located in Lecco, Italy, but they also have a factory in Ozark, Missouri, for United States distribution. Order now and discover why generations of shooters have relied on these well-made Italian rounds.
