- Q & A
In 1816 a young man by the name of Eliphalet Remington decided to build his own gun and enter a competition with it. He ended up winning second place in that competition and although he undoubtedly would have preferred first place he did gain the attention of spectators. Orders began to pour in and Eliphalet decided to fill them, founding the Remington Arms Company. Today Remington is the oldest, largest constantly-operating firearms and ammunition manufacturer in the United States and their reputation precedes them.
These Remington rounds are made for your .22LR. Each round weighs in at 40 grain which is fairly lightweight in general but within the standard weight range for this cartridge size. Because they are so light they are able to zip down-range at higher speeds and also keep felt recoil minimal. These are LRN, Lead Round Nose, rounds and do not expand on impact. The lead may deform slightly on impact but should not be mistaken for expansion. This ammunition is meant for target practice and plinking.
When you order this box of ammunition from Remington you get 50 target rounds. That’s enough to give your gun a snack and get some target practice in, but just think what you could do with even more ammunition. Remember, you can never have too much target practice or too much ammunition. Each of these rounds produces a muzzle velocity of 1150 feet per second and muzzle energy of 117 foot-pounds. Remington manufactures ammunition at their factory in Lonoke, Arkansas. Place your order today for some trigger time with your .22LR.
