- Q & A
The .22LR is a great teaching tool for new shooters. It produces almost no recoil, a soft report, and both guns chambered in this round and the rounds themselves are affordably priced. New shooters can develop a flinch reflex to the recoil, so teaching them shoot on a gun with hardly any noticeable recoil handles that issue, allowing them to focus on the basics instead rather than anticipating the kick of the gun. It also makes accuracy much easier to obtain. Just remember, if you’re teaching a new shooter the ropes of the gun world, teach them the golden rules of gun safety, and make sure they have them down pat before handing them a gun.
These particular .22LR rounds are made by Remington. At 40 grain they’re lightweight overall but within the standard weight range for the cartridge size. Being lighter weight enables them to travel down-range at higher speeds and also keeps felt recoil to a minimum. These are Lead Round Nose, or LRN, rounds and do not expand on impact. The lead may deform somewhat on impact but should not be confused with expansion. These rounds have a muzzle velocity of 1150 feet per second and a muzzle energy of 117 foot pounds. This ammunition is meant for target practice and plinking.
When you order this box of match-grade ammunition from Remington you get 50 target rounds. With 50 rounds you can give your gun a nice snack and spend a little time slinging lead down-range; if you want substantial trigger time with your .22LR, order multiple boxes. Remington has been manufacturing ammunition since 1816, and today they have half a dozen factories across the South, each of which has a specific job. Ammunition is manufactured at their factory in Lonoke, Arkansas. Place your order now and feed your .22LR.
