- Q & A
If you shoot clays with a 12 gauge, there are a few things to keep in mind for a better score. First, remember to point your shotgun, not aim it. Make sure you’re standing in the correct position: a line should extend from the heel of your rear foot to your front foot, pointing in the direction of your targets. Practice mounting your shotgun to your shoulder. Seasoned clay shooters practice in front of a mirror with an unloaded gun on a daily basis. And when you point your shotgun, focus on the target itself, not the barrel or bead. With a little practice, you’ll be on your way to being a better shot, and your score will begin to improve.
These Rio rounds are made for your 12-gauge shotgun. Each shotshell measures 2 ¾” in length and is filled with #7 buckshot. These rounds contain 1 1/8 ounce loads which provide the power necessary to send the pellets racing towards targets with destructive force. #7 buckshot is a good size for shooting clays, and with a 1 1/8 ounce load, you have shattering power. Each round leaves the barrel of your shotgun at a muzzle velocity of 1280 feet per second. This ammunition is made by Rio for target shooting but is also great for target practice in general.
When you place your order for this single box of ammunition you get 250 rounds. That’s enough to keep your gun well fed and you busy for some time. With 250 rounds you can practice your technique, pattern the rounds so you can be confident where they’ll strike at various ranges, and have enough left to get out and do some clay shooting. Rio manufactures ammunition at their factory in Houston, Texas, according to SAAMI or CIP specifications. Keep your gun warm and fed and get your clay shooting scores up; order now.
