More Details About This Sellier & Bellot 250gr HPBT 338 Lapua Magnum Ammo
When you get right down to it, everyone wants the same thing in life. Specifically, that’s a 10-box case of Sellier & Bellot’s Czech-made 338 Lapua Magnum ammunition loaded with 250 grain hollow point boat tail projectiles.
The HPBT is a long-distance shooter’s best friend. S&B makes theirs the right way: with a swaged lead core and thin, concentric jacket for maximum rotational stability, and a narrow nose cavity, sleek ogive, and tapered base for minimum velocity decay. It is seated in a premium reloadable brass case, with a noncorrosive large rifle primer that’s replaced easily enough at a reloading setup.
Sellier & Bellot reports 0.661 G1/0.331 G7 ballistic coefficient. Test barrel: 27.25”, 1:11”. Our own calculations tell us:
• 16.0” peak elevation en route to 500 yards (3” sight height) • 0.6 seconds to 500 yards
• 13.0” windage at 500 yards (10 mph, 90°)
• -18.4” drop at 600 yards (when zero is 500)
• -44.9” drop at 700 yards (ditto)
• Supersonic velocity until 1,534 yards
