1000 Rounds of 147gr JHP 9mm Ammo by Speer G2

At first glance, this 9mm cartridge from Speer’s Law Enforcement line of ammunition may not look like what you’re accustomed to, but that’s because it’s doing something extra special with the traditional jacketed hollow point design. This round’s 147 grain projectile features a relatively shallow nose cavity which is filled with soft elastomer. The elastomer serves a two-fold purpose: It keeps the nose cavity unobstructed by debris while passing through a barrier, and it becomes forced down into the core’s internal fissures during penetration to produce fast and even expansion.

This round’s Gold Dot G2 bullet keeps the original Gold Dot’s extraordinary copper jacket. It is bonded to its pressure formed core, so the two are virtually incapable of separation to ensure deep penetration -- that this round’s bullet is relatively heavy also gives it the added mass needed to travel deeply into its target. Still, the star shape that the G2 mushrooms into works to prevent potentially hazardous overpenetration while still delivering a devastating wound cavity.

This cartridge’s nickel plated casing cycles brilliantly through a semi-automatic weapon, and further staves off the kind of corrosion that could have jeopardized performance.
