These cartridges are essentially loaded to our military’s own M193 specifications, with 55 grain full metal jacket projectiles and 3,240 fps muzzle velocities. The FMJ isn’t designed to do anything more high-tech than feed efficiently, mitigate lead fouling, and strike its target as hard as it’s able to. This round’s bullet will not expand upon penetrating soft tissue – but it may fragment, which is also unpleasant for the target.
