The jacketed hollow point bullet is effective for self-defense, but no design is perfect. Its jacket can partially separate during penetration for a shallower wound cavity, and its hollow point can become clogged with debris and fail to function correctly. Its broad tip may also create issues during feeding in a semi-auto.
This 9mm +P cartridge features a bullet designed to fix all of that. The HoneyBadger is made entirely out of copper. It doesn’t have a jacket or a core that could separate from one another. In place of a nose cavity, the HoneyBadger has special cutting edges and sloped sides. These effectively transfer the bullet’s substantial energy outward into surrounding soft tissues, destroying them in the process. The super tough HoneyBadger does all of its damage even after it passes through a barrier like thick clothing or wallboard.
This isn’t an experimental bullet. Ballistic gel testing has shown repeatedly that the HoneyBadger inflicts an exceptionally wide and deep injury. And when such a bullet is loaded with top quality components by an industry leader like Black Hills, it delivers a self-defense solution that works.
