We’d never besmirch a foreign ammo manufacturer’s best efforts. We tip our hats to Barnaul, Tula, Wolf, Tela Impex, MaxxTech, and all the other companies that ship cheap steel-cased 7.62x39 to our humble country.

But sometimes, you want something better – i.e. loaded with steel-free bullets, new brass cases, and in the Land of the Free. If now is one of those times, then we’re happy to say we’re selling Hornady’s goodness, fresh out of Nebraska!

Hornady’s Frontier label stands for affordable target practice. This ammo’s 123 grain full metal jacket bullets have copper jackets – not bimetal ones – but they’re no more sophisticated than they have to be to shoot clean and fly straight.

This ammo’s cases are also steel-free. They are made of brass – a much suppler metal than steel, which enables Frontier cases to seal off the chamber more effectively during ignition, which in turn reduces fouling of the action. Naturally, Hornady’s Boxer-primed brass is also reloadable!
