This 9mm cartridge from Federal’s Personal Defense line of ammunition delivers the reliable expansion you need to stay safe in an uncertain world. Its 147 grain HST projectile possesses a uniquely engineered nose cavity which won’t plug with fabric or other material that would have hampered its ability to create catastrophic expansion during penetration. The HST’s cannelure mechanically binds its core and jacket together, enabling it to retain virtually all of its weight as it produces six sharp cutting petals that thoroughly incapacitate a threat. What’s more, the HST’s ability to prevent overpenetration means that the shots you fire in self-defense are far less likely to jeopardize innocent bystanders.
This round’s nickel plated brass casing is inherently better able to feed and eject without jamming in a semi-automatic pistol. Furthermore, that reflective plating will make performing a chamber check in a darkened environment an easier task.
