More Details About Our 20 Rounds of 168gr ELD Match 30-06 Ammo by Hornady
Every single M1 Garand rifle in existence is a national treasure. Yours deserves ammunition designed specifically for it. Hornady Vintage Match is loaded to replicate the original military specs for the M1 Garand’s 30-06 cartridge, although it ought to treat any 30-06 rifle famously!
This cartridge’s bullet, however, is quite a good deal more technologically advanced than what the Greatest Generation had to work with during WWII. It is Hornady’s 168 grain ELD Match, which achieves a staggering 0.523 G1 ballistic coefficient once it exits a 24” barrel. The ELD Match pulls this off this with its Heat Shield polymer tip which is immune to aerodynamic heating and cannot deform, its extremely concentric AMP jacket, its sleek secant ogive geometry and boat tail, and its carefully standardized weight and overall dimensions. Our snipers might have dreamt of such bullets back in the day.
The ELD Match does not offer terminal expansion like its brother the ELD-X and is not advised for hunting. It is a sharpshooter’s bullet exclusively. Vintage Match cartridges have match grade components and have been extensively inspected so you can achieve Joyce Hornady’s goal: “Ten bullets through one hole.”
