A savvy shooter can tell what is special about this 7.62x51 ammo by Sellier & Bellot at first glance. Two hundred grains is heavy for a 7.62x51 bullet, which is typically closer to 147 grains. That big boost in mass accordingly makes this round subsonic!

So large a bullet can’t pick up enough speed to shatter the sound barrier upon darting out of the muzzle. At 1,000 fps, it’s not going to make an exceptionally loud cracking report. It’s a great way to appreciate the real potential of a suppressor, but do take care that you’ll still need ear protection while you tear through this ammo.

This round’s bullet is a full metal jacket. You want no less for a semi-auto that demands a hard bullet to feed without jamming, especially when it has a suppressor full of baffles that are no fun to clean lead residue off of.
