20 Rounds of 205gr SHP .45 ACP Ammo by Federal

This 45 ACP cartridge from Federal’s Syntech Defense line of ammunition features a polymer jacketed segmented hollow point bullet. The 205 grain projectile’s unique coating makes lead fouling impossible, and it is even gentler on a barrel as it drastically reduces heat and friction.

The SHP bullet is not gentle on its target, however. Instead of expanding the bullet actually fractures apart into four segments during high velocity penetration. The core itself penetrates to depths up to 18” within bare ballistic gel, so it’s easily able to reach a threat’s vital organs if not pass entirely through them. The three side segments split off to register independent wound channels each more than 6” deep. The stopping power of so many simultaneous injuries is extreme to say the least.

This round’s polymer jacketed SHP is seated in a virgin brass case with clean-burning propellant. Its primer is Federal’s own Catalyst, which doesn’t utilize any lead to spark up hot, clean and reliably. An awesome choice for a Glock 21 or any 1911!
