This M193 spec cartridge launches a 55 grain full metal jacket boat tail projectile at a velocity of 3,165 feet per second. The FMJBT is not a match-grade bullet (nor is it capable of undergoing the terminal expansion you would want for hunting applications), although its trajectory is consistent enough to deliver the accuracy that makes target practice fun and instructive. The FMJBT is also completely steel-free, and accordingly welcome at ranges which forbid “magnetic ammo.”
These are military-grade cartridges, albeit not ones that were manufactured and placed into storage many years ago. Each one sports a brand new reloadable brass case (which is visibly annealed around its mouth because it was not polished following heat-treatment), as well as a reliable, sealed and noncorrosive Boxer primer.
