Go ahead and bring your entire arsenal the next time you head to the range. When you’ve got this 5.56x45 ammo from Hornady’s BLACK label in your kit, you’ll be able to fire all of your black guns perfectly! (Provided they’re chambered for 5.56x45, of course.)

This range round sports a 62 grain projectile. That gives it ballistic performance just like an SS109 penetrator round, but keeps its price tag lower by omitting the steel tip which actually aids penetration. This is an FMJ, sheathed in copper to prevent jamming in a semi-auto and to protect its bore. Hornady draws a famously concentric jacket, which combined with a 3,060 fps muzzle velocity conveys a very flat trajectory.

Hornady is not just a superlative bullet maker. Their brass casings are drawn with as much precision as their bullets’ jackets, and their modern primers and propellant both leave the inside of a rifle’s chamber nice and clean.
