You can do a lot with your AR-15 when you’ve got Hornady’s Frontier 5.56x45 ammo in your bag of tricks. Knock little varmints off their perches. Defend your homestead. Or just pull off those satisfying 250+ yard shots!
This cartridge is rigged with a 68 grain bullet, which is heavier than usual. Its extra mass helps it retain more momentum downrange as well as brush off wind deflection (a 1:8 twist is best for 68 grains, but a 1:7 or 1:9 twist is certainly serviceable).
The bullet’s BTHP design is intended to enhance its accuracy as well. Its uniform core density, narrow meplat, sloping base and concentric jacket all promote greater stability or lower drag in-flight, treating you to a 0.355 G1 BC out of a 20” barrel. Do take care that the BTHP is not designed for terminal expansion and thus unsuitable for medium game.
This ammo’s non-magnetic bullets are loaded in the USA, with reloadable brass cases and primers you can rely on for any application, however serious it might be.
