- Q & A
This round’s 140 grain bullet has enough powder behind it to achieve a muzzle velocity of 2,658 fps in conjunction with a 21.75” barrel (or a 55.25 centimeter barrel, if you’re some kind of metric-loving heathen). The FMJBT’s sharp solid point nose profile, concentric brass jacket and ballistically efficient boat tail all help the bullet create very little in-flight drag. Its respectably high 0.491 G1 BC (0.247 G7 BC) reflects the FMJBT’s ability to exhibit a flat trajectory, resist wind deflection, and avoid becoming subsonic until it has whizzed past the 1,000-yard line.
Sellier & Bellot doesn’t sneak steel into their components. Their bullets do not attract a magnet, and their new production pure brass cases make fine reloading components. This ammo is loaded in the Czech Republic with non-corrosive Boxer primers and low-residue powder.
