More Details About This Underwood 90gr Solid Copper 9mm Ammo
Take care, self-defense enthusiast. This is 9mm +P+ ammunition. It’s loaded extra hot – so much so that it exceeds SAAMI specs for 9mm +P – which means it is not a safe pick for many older firearms. But so long as your pistol or carbine can handle it, Underwood’s high-quality ammo will prove to be a great ally during a dangerous altercation.
This ammo features Lehigh Defense’s monolithic Xtreme Defender. It’s a lead-free solid copper projectile, which makes it resilient enough to pass through barriers and soft tissue without shedding significant weight or losing very much momentum. Once the 90 grain projectile achieves its advertised muzzle velocity of 1,550 fps, it is due to penetrate the threat to a depth of up to 18”!
The Xtreme Defender does not have a nose cavity. The deep flutes machined into its nose profile function by channeling soft tissue inward, pressurizing it, and then jetting it outward in lateral directions. The result is a cavernous wound channel – certain to instantly neutralize the threat, with proper shot placement.
Each round in this case of 200 (10 boxes) features a shiny nickel-plated brass case. It’s easier to see in a firearm’s dark chamber, shielded against corrosion, and extra smooth to promote more reliable functionality in semi-auto firearms. Flash-suppressed propellant is especially advantageous in dark environments, where it doesn’t emit blinding muzzle flash.
