More Details About Our 460 Rounds of 77gr OTM Mk 262 MOD 1-C 5.56x45 Ammo by Black Hills Ammunition in Ammo Can
When the U.S. Navy asked Black Hills Ammunition to develop a precision 5.56x45 cartridge, the South Dakotan company came up with the Mk 262. It is now standard issue for the U.S. Armed Forces’ Service Rifle Teams.
Are you not on one of those teams? Don’t worry. You can still join the accuracy party. All you need to do is buy yourself some Mk 262 MOD 1-C. It is loaded using the same machinery as Mk 262. It has all the same components as Mk 262, which includes a 77 grain Sierra MatchKing open tip match projectile. It is loaded to the same performance specs as well, which is why Black Hills will not ship out a lot of Mk 262 MOD 1-C unless it can group 10 shots at no less than 0.64 MOA at 300 yards. The only difference between Mk 262 and Mk 262 MOD 1-C is that the commercial version isn’t subjected to identical testing. Aside from that, it’s the same ammo the best of the best would fire out in the field.
Please note that the OTM bullet is not built for hunting. Sure, it’s super accurate, but it just can’t follow up impact with terminal expansion.
These sharpshooter rounds feature premium primers and reloadable brass cases, as well as propellant that is formulated for peak temperature stability. The icing on the cake? All 23 boxes come neatly packaged inside a mil-spec ammo can: seam-welded steel, gasketed lid, the works. Perfect if you don’t intend on firing this ammo for the foreseeable future!
