50 Rounds of 55gr FMJ M193 5.56x45 Ammo by Hornady

Hornady makes several of the world’s most technologically advanced and exciting bullets. Don’t buy the farm until you’ve seen them all in action.

But not all of Hornady’s bullets are extraordinary. Sometimes they are extremely … well, just ordinary, as is the case with this Frontier label 5.56x45 ammunition. Each cartridge is M193 spec, and has a nonmagnetic, non-expanding 55 grain full metal jacket projectile to show for it. The FMJ feeds reliably and doesn’t excessively foul a barrel. It executes a level trajectory toward its target (G1 BC: 0.243). It may fragment apart if it strikes flesh at sufficiently high velocity, but will not technically widen. Once again, it’s ordinary, but that just means it’s a dandy fine choice for any kind of recreational target shooting!

Hornady recruited some help manufacturing this ammo: specifically, the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant’s. That’s right! Uncle Sam’s biggest ammo factory produced this ammo to roughly identical specs as the military’s own M193 spec materiel, and it has fine reloadable (albeit crimped) annealed (but not polished) brass cases to show for it!
