Naturally, no 223 Rem cartridge is categorically incapable of incapacitating a threat or anchoring a deer. That said, this ammo is ideally suited for target shooting. It could make very short work of any rodent you happen across as well.

Hornady’s hollow point projectile wears an uniformly thick jacket, without significant flaws that could have impacted rotational stability. The HP’s nose cavity was created to give passage to the molten lead which hardened in place to form a highly balanced core. If fired from a 24” barrel, the 55 grain HP’s 0.254 G1 ballistic coefficient will keep its trajectory supersonic until approximately 735 yards. Just take care, as the HP will not expand after meeting its target.
