- Q & A
This cartridge’s 68 grain bullet is a match-grade hollow point boat tail. Its nose cavity does not serve to deliver terminal expansion; rather, it is there because the swaged lead core was injected into the bullet’s jacket while it was still molten. The bullet’s uniformly distributed core is the perfect addition to Hornady’s concentric AMP jacket, and so balanced a bullet only becomes more accurate when it features a sleek secant ogive profile and optimally angled boat tail.
The heftier 68 grain BTHP Match demonstrates its best accuracy when fired from a 1:8” twist barrel. Its 0.355 G1 BC means the bullet should travel at least double the speed of sound until nearly 300 yards!
This ammo features military-grade supporting components. Heat-treated brass cases reliably seal off the chamber to promote highly efficient ignition, and carefully loaded Boxer primers and powder see to reliable chamber pressures and muzzle velocities.
