- Q & A
This American-made ammo’s just like the stuff they hand out for free at Fort Bragg, except you don’t have to let anyone shave your head in order to get it. Each round is loaded with a 55 grain full metal jacket bullet that hits a velocity of approximately 3,180 fps the instant it clears a rifle’s muzzle.
Winchester’s FMJ doesn’t contain steel or any other magnetic metals, and its smooth, hard jacket helps to avert feeding jams and rapid barrel fouling. This ammo’s cost-effective bullets cannot expand during penetration, so they’re a bad (if not outright illegal) choice for deer hunting.
These rounds are not military surplus, but they are loaded with military grade brass cases. That means the brand new brass cases are still discolored from heat-treatment, but that won’t affect performance or reloadability in any way. Boxer-primed and non-corrosive, 150 rounds to a box, four boxes to a case!
