- Q & A
Blazer is a subsidiary of CCI, a company that was founded in 1951 by Richard Speer, a Boeing machinist. Speer got his company going with the hope of producing rifle cases using the impact extrusion process. But it was the end of World War II and raw materials were sorely lacking, so in the end Speer was unable to produce brass cases. Instead he set about coming up with an improved primer formula, and when he came up with a new non-mercuric primer, it was an immediate success. In fact, CCI is known today for its high quality primer and many other gun companies use CCI’s primers in their own rounds.
These rounds are made by Blazer for your .38 Special. At 125 grain they’re lightweight rounds capable of flying down-range at higher speeds and also reducing felt recoil. These are Jacketed Hollow Point, JHP, rounds and deliver rapid energy transfer on impact also immediately beginning to expand after striking their target. Thanks to their jackets they penetrate more deeply than standard HPs, creating a large, devastating wound cavity. Each round has a muzzle velocity of 945 feet per second and a muzzle energy of 248 foot-pounds. This ammunition is made by Blazer for self-defense.
When you order this case of ammunition from Blazer you get 1000 self-defense rounds. The ammo actually comes in 20 boxes containing 50 rounds each, perfect for taking to the range. These are brand new production, brass-cased rounds with boxer primer, so you can collect your spent casings, reload them, and get even more trigger time in. Although some gun owners simply hang onto defense rounds in case they one day need to defend themselves, it’s actually a wise choice to train with your chosen defense rounds. Defense ammunition produces more felt recoil and muzzle rise than target rounds, so the only way to ensure accuracy and placement is with training. Blazer manufactures these rounds at the CCI factory in Lewiston, Idaho, right along the banks of the Snake River. Order now to give yourself the peace of mind that comes with being loaded and ready to protect those you love.
