More Details About This Blazer 200gr JHP .44 S&W Spl Ammo
CCI is a trailblazer. The Idahoan company figured out how to heat-treat aircraft grade aluminum so it can be made into lightweight and economical cases. Now CCI’s Blazer line of ammunition makes it far more affordable to train and defend with a 44 Special or 44 Magnum firearm – and you can own an entire case of this hard-to-find ammo thanks to your pals at AmmoForSale.com!
These cartridges are outfitted with 200 grain jacketed hollow point projectiles. They’re set to exit an 8.15” vented barrel at a velocity of 920 feet per second. They’re aerodynamic enough to reach a 50-yard target with over 330 ft lbs of energy, which is still more than sufficient by self-defense standards. Its nonmagnetic JHPs also make this budget-friendly ammo a fine choice for training at all commercial ranges. (Check and make sure your range is okay with aluminum-cased ammo beforehand just to be safe. Some ranges don’t like how aluminum cases can’t be removed from the brass ones with a magnet.)
These cartridges are loaded with noncorrosive Berdan primers. They perform indistinguishably from the Boxer primers you usually find in American-made ammo, which begs the question: Why does Blazer use them at all? Because in doing so they make this ammo impossible to reload with conventional component primers, thus preventing handloaders from making the mistake of trying to reuse non-reloadable aluminum cases.
