- Q & A
Coyotes aren’t just predators, they’re varmints. They’re creatures whose idea of fast food is dragging a newborn foal or lamb away from its mother, or raiding a hen house. If you’ve ever dealt with the aftermath of a coyote kill you understand just what they’re capable of doing, and you know they’ll also go after pet dogs and cats. Hunting coyotes requires a skill all its own whether you call them, bait them, or use decoy dogs. But what you do need is the right ammunition, and for that there are these rounds from CCI.
These particular CCI rounds are for your .17HMR. At 17 grain they’re quite lightweight and capable of flying down-range at rather stunning speeds. These are CCI V-Max rounds and expand on impact, slowing down as they mushroom to create a permanent wound cavity while also preventing over-penetration. Each round has a muzzle velocity of 2550 feet per second and a muzzle energy of 245 foot-pounds. This ammunition is great for varmints like coyotes but is also good for target practice.
There are 50 rounds in this box of ammunition from CCI. With 50 rounds you can take down quite a few coyotes or get some good, solid target practice in. Order one box to get started, order two to make sure you don’t run out at an inopportune time. This ammunition is made by CCI, a company that was founded in 1951. With more than 60 years of experience you can be confident they know what they’re doing. Ammunition is manufactured at their factory in Lewiston, Idaho, along the banks of the Snake River. - Can the cci .17 ammo by fired out of a 22 long rifle Posted On: 2/1/14 By: alstrike
- Hello, Unfortunately, the .17 HMR rounds are a different caliber than .22 LR and cannot be fired in a firearm chambered in .22 LR. You will have to shoot .22 LR rounds in a .22 LR firearm.
