It takes a machinist to understand the finer points of metalwork, and if you want a top-level machinist, you think Boeing. In 1951, Boeing machinist Richard Speer founded CCI, the manufacturer that runs Blazer. These Blazer .40 S&W 180 grain FMJ rounds are designed just like Richard Speer would have wanted: to high standards while still at reasonable prices. Blazer and CCI use aircraft grade aluminum for these rounds, utilizing a special heat-treating process to create aluminum cases that are just right for your target practice needs. They’re also berdan primed, which ensures ignition. All in all, a nice round in a nice caliber.
.40 cal is considered the sweet spot of handgun ammunitions. It has good knockdown power while managing to have less recoil than its somewhat larger 10mm parent round. These rounds are 180 grain, which is a heavy weight for this caliber, and that’s great because it means they punch through your targets with zeal. They have a muzzle velocity of 1,000 feet per second – yes, they’re quick – and a muzzle energy of 400 foot-pounds. Whether you’re looking to put time into target practice, tactical training, or plinking, these rounds will keep both you and your handgun happy.
We’re also happy to offer this .40 S&W ammo in a 1,000 round case quantity. Check it out here if you’re doing a lot of plinking!
Not only are these great value rounds, they’re American made. Blazer ammunition is manufactured at CCI’s big plant in Lewiston Idaho, along the Snake River. There are 50 rounds in this box, which is just right for some casual practice. If you want to spend dedicated time practicing, buy more than one box. But whatever size your order is, these .40’s will keep your gun fed, cycling, and ejecting, while you enjoy the caliber sweet spot.
