The 30-06 isn’t just good for winning World Wars. It is also undeniably one of the most successful deer hunting cartridges in existence. Federal’s Fusion line of ammunition is specifically made for hunting deer – it is enough to make an M1 Garand jealous that it cannot fire it.

The Fusion is a technologically advanced soft point projectile. Once Federal has created a uniformly dense pressure-formed lead core, they place it in an electrochemical bath where it is seamlessly bonded to a copper jacket. Because it is applied one single atom at a time, the Fusion’s jacket is perfectly uniform in concentricity. It is also abnormally tough. Once the bullet finds its target, it will forego significant core/jacket separation as it tunnels deeply inward.
