More Details About This Independence 165gr FMJ .40 S&W Ammo

1,000 rounds of “stopping power” – Even if you think that term is a myth, you don’t want to be in the path of these 40 cal rounds!

The 1986 FBI Miami Shootout became a bit of a turning point in the gun world. On the day in question a team of serial bank robbers, armed to the teeth, led a group of FBI agents on a car chase into Miami. The chase ended with a firefight, during which both robbers were shot repeatedly, but they did not succumb to their injuries. Before dying they managed to wound every FBI agent present, killing two, one of whom was a sharpshooter. As a result of that day the FBI decided their men needed better firepower, and after some testing, the .40 S&W was created.

At 165 grain these are moderately weighted rounds capable of moving toward targets at good speeds and heavy enough to impact targets with a substantial punch. This is Full Metal Jacket, FMJ, ammunition and as such does not expand on impact. Target rounds like these are prone to over-penetration, so make sure you have a good backstop in place. Each round flies down-range at an impressive speed and impacts targets with serious force. This ammunition is meant for target practice, self-defense training, and plinking.

There are 1000 target rounds in this case of ammunition, so you’re going to get some serious trigger time in with your handgun. You’ll have enough ammunition to practice shooting from a variety of positions, such as prone, kneeling, and standing, and to work through numerous drills, such as Col. Jeff Cooper’s Mozambique Drill. These are brand new production, brass-cased rounds with boxer primer, so you can police your spent brass, reload it, and get even more time in at the range. Independence manufactures ammunition at their factory in Independence, Missouri, according to high standards. Place your order now and keep your .40 S&W warm and well-fed.
