IMI Systems makes many interesting things. They make the world-famous Uzi. They make the CornerShot, a device which lets you aim a handgun around a corner without exposing yourself to enemy fire. They even make armor plating for tractors – perfect for farming in rough neighborhoods. But for our money, nothing IMI makes is quite so useful as good old-fashioned 5.56x45 ammunition.

This ammunition doesn’t have any shiny bells and whistles to dangle in front of your face. It's just loaded to the U.S. Armed Forces’ tried and true M193 specifications: 55 grain full metal jacket projectile, with the 3,166 fps muzzle velocity that assures reliable functionality and consistent accuracy with any AR-15 or other 5.56 firearm. The jacket’s cannelure prevents setback in the magazine, and its solid point leaves it unable to expand as it perforates soft tissue. The projectile is completely nonmagnetic, so fire away at any commercial range.

This new ammo is loaded with military grade brass cases. See the discoloration around the case’s neck? That’s the byproduct of the annealing process which makes brass stronger. All brass cases are annealed; military grade brass cases just aren’t polished afterward, because soldiers do not like being surrounded by highly reflective pieces of metal which could alert the enemy to their position (and inspectors can verify that the case necks were properly annealed). IMI’s noncorrosive Boxer primers are sealed for added protection against the elements.
