More Details About Our 50 Rounds of 160gr LSWC .40 S&W Ammo by Magtech
Ah! We don’t get to see many semi-automatic pistol cartridges loaded with lead semi-wadcutter projectiles. That makes this 40 S&W ammunition by Magtech a rare treat, and a great investment in your upcoming target shooting pleasure!
This round’s LSWC projectile is many things. Unjacketed is one of them, which is why you can rightly expect less risk of splash-back while you’re firing this ammo at steel targets. The LWSC is also ideal for shooting more conventional targets, as its flat nose profile and angular, 90-degree shoulder cut a very clean hole through whichever paper they punch into. It is also powerful! Magtech’s 40 S&W 180 grain, 990 fps MV ammunition has a power factor of 178.2. This round’s lighter yet higher-velocity bullet grants it a power factor of 178.2, so you can anticipate slightly higher recoil and the flatter trajectory that goes with it. (All muzzle velocities recorded with a 4” test barrel.)
Magtech reports this round as having 0.169 G1 BC: 406 ft lbs striking energy at 50 yards; 355 at 100. Its new, reloadable brass case will exit the handgun with far less force – a good thing if you intend to handload it.
