The .45 ACP was designed by John Browning and put into use in 1904. It’s considered an excellent combat cartridge for a number of reasons from stopping power to accuracy and is, in fact, used by the Navy SEALs and MARSOC as well as some members of Delta Force. Despite its being a large cartridge it has pretty moderate felt recoil as well as less muzzle flip than many shooters expect. The .45 ACP has been called a man stopper more than once thanks to its ability to create a crippling, permanent wound channel even with target rounds.
This particular .45 ACP ammunition is 230 grain, making it fairly heavyweight for the cartridge size. Its heft makes it capable of greater force and also creates a bit more recoil than lighter rounds which is good for creating some realism for self-defense training since defense rounds are more powerful overall. These are Full Metal Jacket rounds and don’t expand, and, just as with all target ammunition they’re prone to over-penetrating. With that in mind, be sure you have a good backstop. Each round has a muzzle velocity of 836 feet per second and muzzle energy of 357 foot-pounds. This ammo is great for target practice, shooting drills, and plinking.
When you place your order for this box of ammunition you get 50 target rounds. The boxes are just the right size for sticking in your range bag or stacking in your safe, but it’s still just 50 rounds and you know you’re going to want more trigger time than that. If you want to give your gun a light snack, get one box, but to give it a full meal, get multiple boxes. Prvi Partizan manufactures ammunition in their factory in Uzice, Serbia. They’ve been manufacturing ammunition since 1927 and are known for providing shooters all around the world with target rounds at economical prices. Your .45 ACP is a big gun with an even bigger appetite, so feed it!
