More Details About Our 650 Rounds of 180gr MC .40 S&W Ammo by Remington

40 S&W’s relatively young history got it start at a now infamous law enforcement shootout. The 1986 FBI Miami Shootout ended up impacting both the FBI and the gun world in general. On the day in question two serial bank robbers led a team of eight FBI agents on a car chase that ended in a bloody firefight. The agents had been operating a rolling car surveillance operation when the situation escalated, and although both robbers were shot early on they kept on fighting. Before the robbers succumbed to their wounds they shot seven of the eight agents, killing two. Following those events the FBI decided their agents needed more powerful rounds, and in 1990 the .40 S&W was created.

This .40 S&W ammunition is manufactured by the 200-year-old Remington company. Each round weighs in at 180 grain which makes these relatively heavyweight rounds for the cartridge size. Because they’re so heavy they’re able to strike targets with greater force. These are MC, Metal Case, rounds and do not expand on impact. MCs are Remington’s version of FMJ. Target rounds tend to over-penetrate targets so make sure you have a good backstop during range time. This ammunition is great for target practice, self-defense training, and plinking.

When you order this big box of ammunition from Remington you get 650 target rounds. That’s enough ammo to spend dedicated trigger time with your .40 S&W, and by the time you burn through the entire box your marksmanship can have improved substantially. How much it improves is entirely up to you. This ammunition is produced using fresh brass and boxer primer so you can reload your spent brass. Each round produces a muzzle velocity of 990 feet per second and muzzle energy of 392 foot-pounds. Remington manufactures ammunition at their factory in Lonoke, Arkansas. Order now and feed your .40 S&W.
