- Q & A
Do you have an ammunition stash? Relying on the store to always have your ammunition in stock is a surefire way to end up with nothing to feed your gun, so by ordering ahead and in larger quantities, you’re ensuring your ability to keep your guns loaded. And of course you don’t want to stock up on just any ammunition, and that’s where Remington comes in. Remington has been around since 1816, when young Eliphalet Remington proved his firearms prowess by building his own gun and winning second place in a competition with it, and today they’ve continued that tradition of ingenuity and talent.
Remington has had their headquarters in Ilion, New York, very nearly since their inception. Today they also have half a dozen plants throughout the South; the bulk of their ammunition is produced at their plant in Lonoke, Arkansas. If you want American-made target rounds, these are it. All of Remington’s ammunition is produced to meet the stringent standards of SAAMI or CIP as well as needing to meet their own high expectations; there’s a reason your father and your father’s father – and so on – always reached for the green-and-white box when they needed ammunition.
These particular rounds are MC – metal case – which is Remington’s label for FMJ rounds, which makes them best for target practice and tactical training. At 124 grain they’re just about in the middle of the 9mm cartridge weight spectrum, which is a nice middle ground for training. They have a muzzle velocity of 1,100 feet per second and a muzzle energy of 339 foot-pounds. They’re made with virgin brass, boxer primed cases, so you can use them up, police your brass, reload, and hit the range a second time. You get 500 rounds in this box, so that’s 500 times you can feed your gun and improve your marksmanship or hundreds of rounds you can add to your stash. Just get your order in so you’ll have this ammunition when you need it; don’t wait.
