- Q & A
When you squeeze the trigger on your gun and the bullet flies from the barrel, lead is released into the air. Those lead particles, in turn, enter your lungs, settle on your skin, and also affect everyone around you, especially employees at your local range. Because of that some ranges specifically request lead-free ammunition is used, but even if yours doesn’t, it’s not a bad idea to keep the air clean. Remington designed these rounds with an enclosed base, meaning the bullet is completely enclosed, and that means when you fire a round no lead escapes into the air. With Remington’s lead-free target rounds, you can keep your lungs healthier and your gun a bit cleaner, too.
At 147 grain these are fairly heavyweight rounds for the 9mm, but they’re still light enough to attain impressive speed. These are FNEB rounds, so the tip is blunted; these rounds will leave a neat, clean hole in your paper target so scoring can take place more accurately. They don’t expand on impact and tend to over-penetrate, just like any other target round, so make sure you have a reliable backstop. Each round reaches out and touches your target at a muzzle velocity of 990 feet per second and slams home with a muzzle energy of 320 foot-pounds.
There are 500 target rounds in this box. Remington manufactures them at their long-time plant in Lonoke, Arkansas, to exacting standards, just as they have since the day they were founded in 1816. 200 years of experience has given them ample time to hone their manufacturing skills, and this ammunition is yet another example of Remington’s excellence. These are new production, non-corrosive brass-cased rounds with boxer primer, so you can burn through the entire box, police your brass, reload, and get back out there. Your 9mm is a hungry gun, so feed it!
