More Details About This SinterFire 75gr Frangible .380 ACP Ammo
Sintering: a process whereby materials are compacted into a solid without melting in the process. Take this SinterFire GreenLine 380 Auto cartridge’s bullet, for example. It is made of copper and tin powders, and hard enough to feed and fire in a semi-automatic.
What that bullet is not hard enough to do, however, is stay intact upon striking a hard target, such as one made of steel. At that instant it does what only a frangible bullet can do: reduce itself to particles that have virtually zero chance of ricocheting back at the firing line.
And therein lies the chief appeal of frangible bullets. They make training safer by eliminating the shooter’s risk of getting peppered by lead and/or copper shrapnel. And because frangible bullets are lead free – just like a GreenLine series round’s primer, for that matter – this ammo won’t surround you in lead gas and dust while you’re letting it loose indoors.
